HORTICET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must carefully read and understand the eligibility criteria for appearing in HORTICET 2023. Eligibility criteria for the exam are formulated by Dr. YSRHU. Following are the important eligibility criteria points to be understood:

• Nationality - Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
• Minimum Age - 17 Years is the minimum age to apply for this exam.
• Maximum Age Limit - The maximum age limit for HORTICET 2023 is 22 years, 25 years for SC/ST candidates, and 27 years for PH candidates.
• Educational Qualification - Candidates who passed class 10th or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidates must have necessarily passed the Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr. YSRHU.
• Appearing Applicants - Appearing candidates in their diploma are eligible to apply.

HORTICET 2023 Results

• HORTICET 2023 Result can be checked from this page or on the official website of Dr.YSR Horticulture University.
• In Scorecard, the score along with the rank will be given.
• 25% of the total marks will be cut off for general and OBC
• There will be no cut off level for ST/SC and PWD.
• If two candidates are having similar marks then the university gives first preference to one who has a greater OGPA in diploma in Horticulture course.

HORTICET 2023 Counseling

HORTICET Counseling 2023 process will start after the result declaration. Counselling for HORTICET 2023 is likely to begin in December 2023. Only those candidates will participate in the counselling process whose name is already mentioned in the merit list. The criteria for the concerned undergraduate course is:

The total number of seats allotted to all the diploma holders is 15% of the seats of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture that is 83 seats {47 (Govt. College seats) + 36 (Pvt. College Seats) = 83 Seats}.

The University will follow reservation rules established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. As per the rules, 85% of seats will be allotted to candidates from Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 15% will be allotted to candidates from outside Andhra Pradesh.

About Dr.YSR Horticulture University

The University was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. It is the second Horticultural University in the country. The university Started functioning w.e.f 26^th June 2007. Both UG and PG courses are provided at the university.
