According to the official brochure, the NEET cutoff provides the performance comparison of a candidate with others. This means that NEET 2023 cutoff percentile will be based on the highest marks obtained in the merit list for admission in MBBS/BDS courses. For example, NEET cut off 2023 percentile for the general category tells that candidates are required to score not less than 50% of applicants from the same category.

If two or more candidates have scored equal NEET cut off qualifying scores, the authority will use tie-breaking criteria to prepare NEET 2023 merit list. Given below are some steps in order of preference that the authority will follow to break the tie:
The NEET 2023 cut off will be considered for admission to the following UG medical seats:
15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
85% State Quota seats
Deemed and Central universities
ESIC and AFMS
Private institutes
As mentioned before, for admission to 15% AIQ seats, candidates must score NEET 2023 AIQ cutoff as set by NTA. Candidate must note that the AIQ cutoff of NEET 2023 will be the same as qualifying percentile.
NEET cut off for All India Quota seats has been mentioned in the table below, which seems to be equivalent with percentile.

After 15% AIQ, the remaining 85% state quota seats will be allotted by respective state counselling committees based on NEET scores. The NEET 2023 cut off for 85% state quota seats will be released by designated authorities after admission.
