NEET UG 2020 – Important Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Admit Card

NEET UG 2020 or National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET is a national level entrance exam conducted to offer admissions into courses like MBBS/BDS provided by most of the medical colleges/universities approved by MCI/DCI in India. It is the National Level medical entrance exam. In order to get admission in abroad, candidates have to qualify the NEET UG. The Application Form of NEET UG 2020 will be available from 02 December 2019.

NEET UG 2020 Application Form

NEET UG 2020 Application Form will be available from 02 December 2019 on the official website. The Candidate can fill the Application form only through Online mode.

  • Before filling the Application form, candidates need to register for the exam.
  • Once the registration is done, the login details will be sent to the registered Email ID or mobile number.
  • After this, the candidates can fill the Application form by using the login details provided to him/ her after the registration was done.
  • Candidates shall fill the Application form online from the official website by filling all the basic details. 
  • Candidate should have scanned images of his/her latest Photograph (size of 10 kb to 200 kb) and Signature (size of 4 kb to 30 kb) in JPG/ JPEG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application.
  • Candidates can also make corrections in the Application form after submitting. This will also be done online only.
  • Candidates will be notified through SMS/e-mail regarding correction in photograph or signature.

Application Fee

The NEET UG 2020 Application fee varies to different categories. Candidates can check the application fee in the table provided below:

Mode of Payment: Candidates will be able to pay the Application Fee through online as well as offline mode.

  • For offline mode it must be paid in cash through E-Challan.
  • For online mode the fee can be paid through Credit card/Debit card or Net banking.

NEET UG 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

  1. Nationality: There is no limitation due to Nationality. Everybody including Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons with Indian origin (PIO) and Foreign Nationals citizen are eligible to apply for NEET (UG).
  2. Candidates belonging to Jammu &Kashmir states are eligible to apply under 15% All India Quotas only on the basis of self-declaration.
  3. Age limit: There is no upper age limit. The Candidates must have completed minimum 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2020. 
  4. Qualification: Candidates must have completed 12th level or equivalent examination from a government recognized board.
  5. Mandatory Subjects: Candidate who wishes to apply must make sure that they had Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology with English as mandatory subject in their 12th class level.
  6. Percentage: Candidates in the 10+2 level must have secured minimum of 50% marks for General categories; 45% marks for physically handicapped (PH) & 40% marks for SC/ST category candidates in PCB group.

NEET UG 2020 Admit Card

NEET UG 2020 Admit Card/Hall Ticket will be available on the official website of NTA on 27 April 2019 and must be downloaded by all the applicants and undermentioned guidelines must be followed:

  • Candidates must show on demand the Admit Card (NEET UG 2020) for entry to the Examination Hall. A candidate not possessing print out of the downloaded admit card and valid photo identity (Aadhaar/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID) shall not be allowed to enter in the Examination Hall by the Center-in-Charge.
  • A photograph of the candidate will be taken at the Centre before the candidate is asked to take his seat for the examination. 
  • Candidates found carrying any unwanted materials, textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except those mentioned above inside examination Hall will be debarred from appearing the examination.
  • Mobile Phones, Bluetooth devices, Calculators, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of Calculator are not allowed in the Examination Hall. Possession of such items during the Examinations may lead to cancellation of exam for the candidate.

NEET UG 2020 Answer Key

  • The NTA will display NEET UG 2020 Answer Key of the questions, giving opportunity to the candidates to challenge, in case of any doubt in the answer key on the website. For exact date of display of Answer Key, candidates may regularly check updates on NTA website after the examination. 
  • Candidates will be given an opportunity to make online challenge against the Answer Key on payment of non-refundable processing fee of Rs.1000/- per answer challenged. 
  • Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the NTA with the help of its subject experts. If found correct, the answer key will be revised accordingly. Based on the revised Answer Key, result will be prepared and declared. 
  • No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/nonacceptance of his/her challenge. 
  • The key finalized after the challenge will be final. 

NEET UG 2020 Results

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NEET UG 2020 Result on 04 June 2019. Candidates can check the Result from the official website -

  • To check the result, the candidates need to log in by entering their NEET 2020 Application Number and Password. After this click on “Submit” button.
  • No category wise result sheet will be prepared. As soon as the result is ready, NTA will display the results on the website and thereafter candidates can download their Result.
  • The score, as well as, the merit list will be displayed onscreen. The admission under 15% All India Quota seats and State Quota Seats are offered on the basis of the rank obtained in NEET UG 2020.
  • Candidates are required to take a print out of the Result for future references.

NEET UG 2020 Counselling

  • After the Results are announced, the Merit List will also be released. The candidates whose name is included in the merit list will be eligible to appear for NEET UG 2020 Counseling.
  • Online counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services. Information for online counselling will only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website. Candidates who will qualified are advised to read the counselling related information carefully and understand what actions to be taken by them for appearing in the Counselling. 
  • Candidates wishing to apply for admission in State Medical Colleges/Universities/Institutions using merit list of NEET (UG) - 2020 shall follow the instructions of the State Government and/or authorities of the Medical/Dental
    colleges/Institution/University concerned for counselling. 
  • Candidates will have to report at the allotted centres to confirm their seat. The Admission fees also needs to be paid  by the candidate after Counseling, if candidates fail to report at allotted college their seats will be allotted to the waiting list candidates.

NEET UG 2020 Preparation Tips

  1. Candidates must solve all the question paper of previous years and also the sample question papers. This would help the candidate to have an idea about the pattern of examination.
  2. Time management is very important during the preparation for exams. Students must schedule their time accordingly.
  3. Candidates must focus on weaker topics first and keep practicing instead of leaving the difficult section unattended. 

NEET UG 2020 Cut Off
