UCEED 2024: Application, Exam Dates, Admit Card, Syllabus

UCEED 2024 Latest Updates 

• Registration Deadline: The regular registration window for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED 2024) and CEED 2024 will close today.
• Late Registration: Candidates can still apply with a late fee of Rs 500 until November 20.
• Registration Websites: Eligible candidates can register on the official websites: ceed.iitb.ac.in for CEED 2024 and uceed.iitb.ac.in for UCEED 2024.
• Application Fee: General and OBC category candidates need to submit a non-refundable application fee of Rs 3,800, while SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates will submit Rs 1,900.
• Admit Card Release: The admit cards for CEED and UCEED 2023 will be released on January 5, 2024.
• Exam Date: UCEED examinations are scheduled for January 21, 2024, from 9 AM to 12 PM.
• Result Announcement: CEED 2024 result will be declared on March 6, and UCEED 2024 result will be out on March 8.
• Acceptance of Scores: Various IITs and other institutes will accept UCEED 2024 scores for admissions to Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs. CEED 2024 scores will be accepted for admission to PG programs in several institutes.

UCEED 2024 Exam Dates

UCEED 2024 Application Form

• If a candidate misses the last date to submit the form, they can fill it until  November 2022 with a late fee of Rs. 500/-.
• The application form for the UCEED examination was submitted through online mode only.
• Candidates had to make sure that all the details given in the application form are correct and verified.
• PwD candidates were given a scribe and or compensatory time (20 min/hr) during the exam.
• The candidate had to upload the following documents:

1. 1. A recent colour photograph in either JPEG or JPG format.
   2. Scanned copy of the candidate’s full signature on white paper in either JPEG or JPG format.
   3. If the applicant appeared in 2020, qualifying examination certificate had to be uploaded in PDF format.
   4. Candidates appearing for the board exam in 2021 had to upload a certificate from the school/college principal in PDF format.
   5. If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name in PDF format.
   6. OBC-NCL, Caste (for SC), Tribe (for ST) or PwD certificate issued by a competent authority in PDF format.

UCEED 2024 Application Fees

 The given table shows the Registration Fee for Examination Centres in India for UCEED 2024:

• The registration fees shown above DOES NOT INCLUDE service charges, processing fees and any other charges that the banks may charge.
• The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

UCEED 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1995 for OPEN or OBC-NCL categories.
• Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1990 for SC, ST or PwD categories.

• A candidate can appear for UCEED for a maximum of two times and only in consecutive years.
• UCEED score is valid for one year only.

• Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2022 or 2021.
• Candidates from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects are eligible to apply for all four institutes—IITB, IITG, IITH and IIITDMJ.
• Applicants from any other streams are also eligible to apply for UCEED.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying for B.Des

Candidates have to fulfil the following criteria mentioned below to apply for the admission:

• Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1996 for OPEN or OBC-NCL categories &  on or after  01 October 1991 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

The candidates should have qualified and obtained a rank in UCEED 2024.

• The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (Class 10+2 or equivalent) in 2024 or should be appearing for the qualifying examination in 2022 in order be eligible.
• Applicants from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects are eligible to apply to all the four institutes. Candidates from any other stream (Science without Maths or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur.
• Candidates appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible.

UCEED 2024 Admit Card

• Admit card can be downloaded through the registration portal (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in)
• IITB will issue the admit card to those candidates only whose registration will be complete in all aspects.
• The admit card will contain various details like the candidate's name, registration ID, Roll Number for UCEED, photograph, signature, exam schedule, test centre details and instructions to applicants.
• In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, contact the Chairman JEE (Advanced), UCEED & CEED 2022 at IIT Bombay before the specified date via email mentioned in the registration portal.
• Candidates must carry a government authorised photo identity proof along with the Admit Card to the exam venue on the exam day.
• It is mandatory to carry the hard copy of the admit card to the examination centre otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

UCEED 2024 Exam Pattern

• Medium: The question paper will only be in English.
• Examination Mode: The exam will be conducted online (CBT) as well as offline (PBT) mode. 
• Exam Duration: Candidates will get 180 minutes (three hours) to complete the exam.

• This part will consist of only one question that is aimed at testing drawing skills which will require subjective evaluation.
• The time duration for Part B will be 30 minutes.
• Total marks allotted for Part B is 60 marks.

UCEED 2024 Preparation Tips

Preparation can be exhausting at times. Here are certain preparatory tips that would help candidates overcome the anxiety of exam and prepare efficiently.

• Visualisation and spatial ability play an important part in the design. Visualise the figures, patterns and shapes given in question; and figure out to solve them graphically.
• Understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
• Solve UCEED 2022 sample papers. Prioritise quick solving questions and saving time.
• Attempt mock tests and see the score. Derive inferences and aim to improve.

UCEED 2024 Answer Key

UCEED 2024 answer key and question paper will be released in January 2024 on the official website.

• This answer key (Part A) can be used by the candidates to verify their answers, which are also made available in the form of Candidate Answer Sheets.
• If a candidate believes that the answer key is wrong, they can contest the key by posing a challenge against it.
• In case any discrepancy is found, it should be addressed to ([email protected]), on or before January 2024.
• Candidates have to mention “Comments on Answer Keys” in the subject of the mail.

UCEED 2024 Result

• Candidates can download the result by using their user UCEED 2024 login id and password (created during the registration process). 
• The applicants who will qualify for the exam will be able to download their scorecards.
• It must be notified that a hard copy of the scorecard will not be sent to the qualified candidates.
• Obtaining a rank does not necessarily guarantee admission in the B.Des. program in the participating institutes.

UCEED 2024 Counseling

Check all the details given below to understand the complete procedure of UCEED counseling:

• Counseling processing fee for applicants of all categories and genders is Rs. 2000/- for B.Des admission application.
• The candidates can give their preference for institute and specialisation in which they want admission.
• The applicants can “freeze” their allotted institute, which is determined by UCEED rank and availability, or decline it.
• The candidates can also choose to “float” their allotted seat, which signifies that they accept the current allotment but are open to a seat that suits their preferences better.

Candidates should opt for 3 centres of their choice of preference for UCEED at the time of registration. After submitting the online application, request for change of the city will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Candidates opting for Dubai centre should also compulsorily opt for 2 cities of their choice of preference from above 24 Indian cities while filling the application form. Exam Conducting Body: Indian Institute of Technology

Indian Institute of Technology is the autonomous and public institution of higher education located in various cities of India. IITs are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 and the government has declared them as institutions of national importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance. 

The Indian Institute of Technology will examine the following domains:
