UPES provides a two-year MBA programme with 15 different concentrations. To be admitted to this programme, candidates must pass the UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET). However, UPES also offers admission via the Non-Examination Pathway, which is based on a score in any national level entrance examination, such as the CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ CMAT/ NMAT/ NMAT or XAT.
The ultimate decision will be made based on the entrance exam score, which will be followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

In the year 2007, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Centre for Continuing Education (UPES-CCE) was founded. Its goal is to provide working professionals with high-quality education. The institute offers remote learning programmes in a variety of specialisations, including BBA, MBA, PGP, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Certification.
Academic performance and work experience are used to determine admission. Admissions applications are accepted both online and in person.

Students admitted to the M.Tech degree in the academic session 2020-21 who have a valid GATE score of 70% or higher will be considered for a scholarship of INR 12,400 per month throughout their registration term with the University. Students must have completed at least one semester to be eligible for the continuation scholarship in following semesters.
In addition to maintaining regular attendance, discipline, outstanding behaviour, and conformity with all other rules as stipulated by the University from time to time, attained a minimum SGPA / CGPA of 8.0 in each semester and passed every semester examination on the first attempt.

UPES has a placement cell that runs several training programmes to ensure that students are placed successfully. UPES believes in developing strong leaders through constant placement growth. The Office of Career Services collaborates with industry to build and support a collaborative Industry-Academia Interface, as well as to arrange placements and internships for all students.
