Cochin University of Science & Technology Common Admission Test or CUSAT CAT 2020 is an entrance exam being organized at the University Level by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). This exam is conducted to enrol the eligible candidates into B.Tech, BBA/LL.B (Hons.), B.Com. LL.B (Hons.), B.Tech with Integrated, M.Tech, MCA. This exam is organized as the Common Entrance Test (CAT), Lateral Entrance Test (LET), and Department Admission Test (DAT) to provide admission into the programmes mentioned above. 

The candidates can also apply based on their MAT and GATE exam score in this university. The Application Form of CUSAT CAT 2020 will be available in January 2020.

CUSAT CAT 2020 Application Form

CUSAT CAT 2020 Application Form will be available by the last week of January 2020, whereas for B.Tech programme the Application Form will be available from February 2020 onwards. The candidates need to know all the details about CUSAT CAT Application Form 2020 to avoid any mistakes while filling the application form.

The details about the application form are given below:

  • The candidates can fill the application form through online mode only.
  • The candidates can submit the application form without any late fee by the last week of February 2020.
  • The candidates can also submit the application form with late fee by the second week of March 2020.
  • The candidates willing to apply for: Diploma, post-graduation diploma, M. Phil, PhD and certificate programs might get a written application through the mail from the concerned department.
  • The candidates applying based on their MAT or GATE score need to mail their Mark list/ Score Sheet (soft copy) to Cochin University (CUSAT) on or before the last date for submitting the online application form. 

Application Fee 

  • The candidates can pay the application fee using any of these modes: Credit card/Debit card or Net Banking.
  • Application fee once remitted is not refundable under any circumstances.
  • The application fee will differ according to the category to which the candidate belongs.

CUSAT CAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates need to first carefully look at the CUSAT CAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria required to appear in CUSAT entrance test so that their application form does not get cancelled afterwards. The details about CUSAT CAT eligibility criteria 2020 are provided hereby:

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national or belong to Kerala state.

Age Limit: The candidate should have age between 17 years to 25 years.

Under Graduate Programmes Eligibility Criteria:

  • B.Tech: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in B.Tech or BE from any recognized university with at least 60% score. If any candidate has qualified the GATE entrance test then they need to show the scorecard which is applicable.
  • B.Tech with Integrated The candidates should have cleared 12th standard exam, having a 50% score in Mathematics subject itself and 50% score in PCM from a recognized board or Kerala state.
  • B.Tech Marine Engineering: The candidates should have cleared 12th standard exam, having a 60% score combined in English and PCM, and at least 50% score in Mathematics separately.
  • BBA/LL.B (Hons.)/B.Com. LL.B (Hons.): The candidate should have qualified the senior secondary exam with at least 60% score but, the candidates belonging to Arts/Humanities or Commerce stream need to score at least 55% marks.

Post Graduate Programmes Eligibility Criteria:

  • M.Tech: The candidate must be a Law graduate with at least 45% marks.
  • MCA: The candidate must have a graduation degree in Science subject with Mathematics as one of the subjects or should have completed their graduation from either of the branches mentioned: Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Engineering/ Electronics/ Computer Applications/ Technology with 55% score (except language & humanities).

CUSAT CAT 2020 Admit Card

CUSAT CAT 2020 Admit Card will be available in March 2020. The details about CUSAT Admit Card 2020 are given hereby:

  • The admit card will be available through online mode only.
  • The candidates need to enter their: application number, user name and the password to download their admit card.
  • The candidates are also required to download the admit card and also take out a print out of it.
  • Candidates also need to carry their admit card with them on the exam day without which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

CUSAT CAT 2020 Exam Pattern

The candidates need to have all the important information regarding the CUSAT CAT 2020 Exam Pattern; this would help them to prepare for CUSAT entrance in a structured and in a planned way.

  • Exam Mode: The CUSAT CAT exam would be conducted through online mode (CBT).
  • Total Number of Questions: The question paper will have a total of 250 questions.
  • Exam Duration: The candidates would be given 3 hours to solve the question paper.
  • Total marks allotted: The question paper will weight 750 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: The candidates will be given 3 marks for every correct response and one mark will be deducted for every wrong response.

CUSAT CAT 2020 Syllabus

The candidates are advised to once go through the CUSAT CAT 2020 Syllabus before they start preparing for their CUSAT exam. This would help to keep a record of what all topics the candidates have covered and hence prepare accordingly for the exam. 

  • For B.Tech and 5 Year Integrated M.Sc. Programmes: The syllabus includes: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

  • The candidates need to make a proper time table to and follow it properly so that they can be consistent in their preparation for the exam.
