NDA 2 2019 application form can be filled till 03 September 2019. National Defence Academy is an entrance exam organized at the national level for the candidates who wish to be a part of Indian Navy, Air Force and Army. NDA is organized twice a year (NDA 1 and NDA 2) by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), one in April and the other in November respectively.

  • The candidates are firstly supposed to clear the written test by scoring the minimum cut off marks.
  • After which they can appear for 5- Days Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview round and hence get admission into National Defence Academy and Naval Academy.
  • The candidates after qualifying the interview round of SSB have to go through the medical examination and document verification procedure.

The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this examination will be as under:

NDA 2 2019 Application Form

NDA 2 2019 application form has been released on 07 August 2019 and the last date to fill the form is 03 September 2019.

The complete information about NDA 2 2019 Application Form is provided below:

  • Application Form will be available on the official website (upsconline.nic.in).
  • The last date to fill the online application form is 03 September 2019 till 6:00 PM.
  • Also, candidates can withdraw their applications from 10 September 2019 to 17 September 2019.
  • Applicants must give their valid and active e-mail id while filling up the online application form as the Commission will be using the email id provided by applicants to contact the candidates.
  • Candidates must submit only one application. If they are submitting another/multiple applications then they need to make sure that the application having higher RID (Registration ID) is complete in all respects such as applicants' details, examination centre, signature, photograph, photo identity card document, fee etc. The fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID
  • Candidate should also have details of any one photo ID like Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/ any other photo ID card issued by the state or central government.
  • The same photo ID should be uploaded with the Online application form.
  • The photo ID will be used as future reference and the candidates need to carry the same while appearing for exam/SSB.
  • While filling the application form, the candidate should carefully choose the Centre for the Examination.

NDA 2 2019 Application Fee

Mode of Payment: The payment of application fees can be done in both online and offline methods. Candidates must keep in mind that application fee will not be refunded back.

  • Offline: Applicants who opt for 'Pay by Cash' mode, should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day.

Note: Pay by cash mode option will deactivate at 23:59 hours of 02 September 2019 ( one day before the closing date)

  • Online: Candidates can pay the application fee either by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Credit/Debit Card. 

Note: The banking payment mode is applicable till the closing date i.e. till 6:00 P.M. of 03 September 2019.

NDA 2 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates need to carefully go through the NDA 2 Eligibility Criteria 2019 given below and thereby check their eligibility before they apply for the exam:

(a) Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried male and must be :
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the First of January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

  • Candidates belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) mentioned above must be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal. 

(b) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status: 

  • Only unmarried male candidates born between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2004 will be eligible. 

(c) Educational Qualifications:

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidate must have cleared their 10+ 2 (10+2 pattern of School Education) or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(iii) Candidates who will appear in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination but, this is only a special concession given to them.

They will have to submit the proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date (i.e. Twenty Fourth of June 2020) and no request for extending this date will be entertained.

(d) Physical Standards: 

  • Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy Examination (II), 2019.
  • Many qualified candidates are rejected subsequently on medical grounds. Candidates are therefore advised in their interest to get themselves medically examined before submitting their applications to avoid disappointment at the final stage.

(e) A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces will not be eligible to apply. 

NDA 2 2019 Admit Card

  • The NDA 2 Admit Card 2019 (for November session) will be issued three weeks before the exam. 
  • Candidates will have to enter their login id credentials and other details to download their NDA 2 admit card.
  • Candidates can download e-Admit Card from the UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in).
  • In case, there is any mistake in the details printed on the Admit Card, the candidates must immediately contact the official authority .
  • Also, they must immediately contact the Commission in case of any discrepancy while downloading the admit card.

Two-Stage Selection Process

Candidates qualifying the written test will have to undergo the Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test introduced at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards by the Service Selection Board (SSB).

  • All the candidates will be put to stage-one test on the first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards.
  • Only those candidates who qualify stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests.
  • Those candidates who qualify stage II will be required to submit the Original Certificates along with one photocopy each of: 
  1. Original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth
  2. Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.
