CENTAC - Syllabus
Centralised Admission Committee
Updated On - December 27 2021 by Shilpee Ghosh
Before applying for the exam, the candidate should have a good understanding of the CENTAC syllabus. The Centralised Admission Committee, as previously stated, does not publish its syllabus. The curriculum, on the other hand, is created by the higher authorities of various courses. As a result, the candidate should prepare for it according to the syllabus of various courses.
Candidates who have chosen to pursue an engineering degree must prepare for the JEE syllabus. Those who have chosen to pursue a medical degree must study for the NEET exam. Every course, too, has its own curriculum. Candidates must prepare in accordance with it. Let's look at the detailed course's syllabus.
Candidates who wish to enrol in an engineering college must first pass the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Exam). Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the three topics that make up the JEE test. These three subjects will be the basis for the questions. Candidates will need to consult their 11th and 12th grade textbooks for this. These disciplines will also assist the individual in preparing for the exam. The merit list will be used to determine which universities will offer the course. Candidates must pass the Joint Entrance Exam to be included in the merit list. Let us now look at the topics for the JEE test by paper:
Sr. No. | Subject | Topics |
01. | Physics | Properties of solids and liquids Gravitation Laws of motion Oscillations and waves Physics and measurement Rotational motion Thermodynamics Kinematics Work, energy, and power Electronic devices Optics Electromagnetic waves Atoms and nuclei Electrostatics Dual nature of matter and radiation Kinetic theory of gases Current electricity Communication systems Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents Magnetic effects of current and magnetism |
02. | Chemistry | Physical Chemistry Some basic concepts in chemistry Chemical thermodynamics Solutions Equilibrium Redox reactions and electrochemistry Chemical kinetics Surface chemistry Organic Chemistry Purification and characterisation of organic compounds Hydrocarbons Chemistry in everyday life States of matter Atomic structure Hydrogen Block elements (alkali and alkaline earth metals) P Block elements (group 13-18 elements) d- and f – block elements Organic compounds containing oxygen Coordination compounds Environmental chemistry General principles and processes of isolation of metals Organic compounds containing nitrogen Chemical bonding and molecular structure Principles related to practical chemistry Organic compounds containing halogens Polymers Some basic principles of organic chemistry Biomolecules Inorganic Chemistry Classification of elements and periodicity in properties |
03. | Mathematics | Mathematical induction Permutations and combinations Mathematical reasoning Limit, continuity, and differentiability Integral calculus Binomial theorem and its simple applications ·Vector algebra Statistics and probability Trigonometry Coordinate geometry Complex numbers and quadratic equations Matrices and determinants Sets, relations, and functions Three-dimensional geometry Differential equations |
Candidates interested in medical school admission must be familiar with the NEET exam syllabus. In addition, the candidate must pass the NEET exam. The merit list will be used to make the selection. As a result, the candidate must prepare according to the NEET syllabus. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, Logic, and Quantitative Reasoning make up the NEET syllabus. Let us now discuss the topics in relation to the NEET examination's subject:
Sr. No. | Subject | Topics |
01. | Physics | Class XI Kinematics Laws of Motion Work, Energy, and Power Gravitation Properties of Bulk Matter Thermodynamics The behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory Oscillations and Waves Physical-world and measurement Class XII Current Electricity Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents Electromagnetic Waves Optics Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation Atoms and Nuclei Electronic Devices Electrostatics |
02. | Chemistry | Class XI Hydrogen s-Block Element (Alkali and Alkaline earth metals) Some p-Block Elements Organic Chemistry- Some Basic Principles and Techniques Hydrocarbons Environmental Chemistry Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry Structure of Atom Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure States of Matter: Gases and Liquids Thermodynamics Equilibrium Redox Reactions Class XII Coordination Compounds Haloalkanes and Haloarenes Alcohols, Phenols, and Ethers Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen Biomolecules Polymers Chemistry in Everyday Life Solid State Solutions Electrochemistry Chemical Kinetics Surface Chemistry General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements p- Block Elements d and f Block Elements |
03. | Biology | Class XI Cell Structure and Function Plant Physiology Human physiology Diversity in Living World Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants Class XII Ecology and environment Biology and Human Welfare Biotechnology and Its Applications Reproduction Genetics and Evolution |
04. | English Language and Comprehension | A Section: Reading Unseen Passages and Note-Making B Section: Writing Skills C Section: Literature and Long Reading |
05. | Logic and Quantitative Reasoning | Blood Relationships Theme Detection Coding and Decoding Figure Completion Test Substitution The number and Alphabetical Series Quantitative Aptitude, etc. |
Because the Centralised Admission Committee does not administer an entrance exam, there is no specific syllabus for the CENTAC 2022. Tests like JEE and NEET, on the other hand, are entrance exams that students must pass to be qualified for the courses they desire.
JEE test is available for engineering courses, while NEET exam is available for medical courses, thus applicants must prepare according to the syllabus. The syllabus for these tests will be based from the syllabus of 11th and 12th grades. As a result, candidates should use their 11th and 12th grade textbooks to study for the entrance tests. The topics will be covered solely using those books. Candidates referring books other than the one mentioned will not find the mentioned topics given above. Hence, it is recommended to have a thorough reading of their 11th & 12th syllabus.
