GATE 2024 Eligibility Criteria will be released by Organising Institute for GATE 2024. Applicants who are appearing for the GATE 2024 exam must check the GATE 2024 Eligibility Criteria before applying. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination that offers admission to M.Tech. and M.E. programs at various IITs and NITs colleges. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates currently in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree program, or those who have completed a government-approved degree program in engineering, technology, science, architecture, or humanities, are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.

- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates seeking to appear for GATE 2024 must hold a bachelor's degree in various fields, including engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, or humanities.
- Students who are currently in the third year or higher of their degree program are also eligible to apply.
- Certification Approval:
- It is essential that the candidate's educational certification is recognized and approved by authoritative bodies such as MoE (Ministry of Education), AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), UGC (University Grants Commission), and UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
- The certification should be deemed equivalent to degrees like BE (Bachelor of Engineering), BTech (Bachelor of Technology), BArch (Bachelor of Architecture), or B.Planning (Bachelor of Planning).
- Registration Fee:
- Candidates falling under the SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories need to pay a registration fee of Rs 900.
- An additional fee of Rs 500 will be applicable if the application is submitted after September 29.
- Other Categories and Foreign Nationals:
- Applicants from categories other than SC, ST, and PwD, including foreign nationals, have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,400.
- If the application is submitted after September 29, an extra fee of Rs 500 will be charged.

GATE 2024 Eligibility for Indian Nationals
General Eligibility for GATE 2024
- There is no age limit for this exam.
- Only those candidates who have completed their degree are eligible for this exam.
- Final year candidates or result waiting for candidates also apply for the exam.
- This exam also does not have any fixed percentage criteria.
- Candidates have no limits of attempts for the exam.
- If candidates have already passed the qualifying exam, they have to submit the degree certificate/provisional certificate/course completion certificate/professional certificate/membership certificate issued by the institute or society.
- The applicants will need to upload the certificate from the Head of the Department/Institute or a copy of the mark sheet for Section A of AMIE.

Note: If a candidate is pursuing any higher degree or has already obtained a degree higher than that mentioned, the candidate should select the minimum required qualifying degree while filling out the application form.
The candidates who hold the certification from any of the professional societies must ensure that the examinations organized by the societies are approved by MHRD/AICTE/UGC/UPSC as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Planning etc.

GATE 2024 Eligibility for International Students
The applicants who have obtained or are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India:
- The applicants must have completed or are in the final year of their Bachelor's degree (at least 4 years) in Engineering/ Technology or
- The candidates must have completed or are in the final year of their Post Graduate degree (for at least 2 years) in any relevant subjects in science.
