IGNOU or Indira Gandhi National Open University is a federal open educational university in New Delhi, India. It is located in Maidan Garhi. IGNOU is a leading open university that was founded in 1985. It was founded to help people with distance and open education. Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU Ph.D 2022:
- Only students with a master's degree from a recognised university will be admitted.
- SC/ST/OBC candidates will receive a 5% grade reduction.
- Students with an M. Phil degree or who have passed the NET or a similar exam will be exempt from taking the admissions exam.
Subject-wise Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU PhD. 2022 is stated below:
- Geology - Student must have a postgraduate degree in geology, geological science, applied geology, geo exploration, mineral exploration, engineering geology, marine geology, earth science and resource management, petroleum geoscience, petroleum exploration, geochemistry, geophysics, hydrogeology, geomatics, geoinformatics, remote sensing, and geographic information systems from a recognised university.
- French - Master's Degree in French
- Journalism and Mass Comm. - In journalism and mass communication, a postgraduate or M.Phil degree is required.
- Statistics- With a minimum of 55 percent, a postgraduate degree in statistics is required.
- Geography- M.A./M.Sc. in Geography, Earth System Science, or a Related Geospatial Technology Discipline
- Gender And Development Studies- A Master's Degree in Gender Studies or Gender and Development Studies with a grade point average of 55 percent. PG Degree In A Different Stream With 1-2 Courses In Gender Studies Or Gender And Development Studies With Verifiable Teaching Or Research And Publications In Gender Studies Or Gender And Development Studies

- Biochemistry- PG Degree or any other degree from an accredited university that is equivalent to a PG Degree
- Fine Arts- M.Phil. in Appropriate field with at least 55 percent marks from any recognised university or a PG degree in Fine Arts/ Visual Arts/ Drg. and Ptg./ Design with at least 55 percent marks (50 percent marks for SC/ST/OBC).
- Theatre Arts- M.Phil. in Appropriate field with a grade of 55 percent or M.P.A. in Theatre Arts with a grade of 55 percent
- Physics- M.Phil. in Physics with course work and a UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC/CSIR-NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE score, or a teacher fellowship holder.
- Chemistry- In Chemistry, a PG or M.Phil degree is required.
