IGNOU PhD 2022 is a national event that will give admission to the university's PhD programmes. For the Academic Session 2021-22, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is accepting online applications for the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Ph.D. Entrance Examination 2021 for admission to different Ph.D. Courses (List of Disciplines attached as Annexure-I). The application form will be available possibly in August 2022. The written test is followed by an interview to determine who will be chosen. Those whose applications are determined to be appropriate for admission will be invited to take the entrance exam. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to the interview phase based on their performance in the written test. Only the Selected Candidates will get admission offer letters for admission at IGNOU PhD. 2022.
Note: Candidates who have completed an M.Phil. degree (including course work and dissertation) or who have passed the NET (conducted by UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR) or any other comparable examination will be excluded from taking the Entrance Test.
Entrance Exam:
- On the IGNOU website, a list of shortlisted candidates who will be needed to take the Entrance Exam will be posted.
- One week before the test, the admit card will be available on the IGNOU official website.
- Candidates must bring their admission card to the exam centre or they will be denied the opportunity to take the written exam.
- At the test centre, applicants must present an original identity evidence with a photograph, such as an Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport, or ID card.
- To pass the exam, students must have a minimum score of 50% on the admission exam.
- The Entrance Exam will be place in 13 different cities.
Presentation/Interview:
- Candidates who pass the written test will be invited to an interview/presentation round.
- Only the Selected Candidates will get admission offer letters.

Steps to Apply for a Ph.D. Program at IGNOU
